Join Trinity Western University's Human Resources Student Association 2020-21 President, Isabella Alvarez and Vice-President of Communications, Brooke Unger, leading a panel of diverse professionals currently working in the HR field to learn about why YOU should consider a career in HR right now!  We discuss the possible pathways to take in launching a career in HR as well as the challenges of HR Professionals working in our current climate. Our Speakers:

Margaret Tam, MBA, MSc, PMP, CPHR, SHRM-SCP: Margaret is the Executive Director of Human Resources at Trinity Western University overseeing the University-wide Human Resources function. She develops and implements policies and programs that advance the University’s mission through an engaging and high performing people culture. Margaret has 16 years of experience in executive leadership and project management in various industries such as technology, banking and post-secondary, and is passionate about transformative change management.  -----  

Giuliana Loza, BBA:  Giuliana works for Brucejack Gold Mine of Pretium Resources as a Talent Acquisition Specialist. She is a strategic problem-solver who envisions smart solutions and executes across all levels of the organization. Her in-depth 13 years of experience across the gas, energy and other natural resource sectors as well as financial and accounting services, have allows her to source, select and secure top-notch candidates for multiple concurrent positions and effectively address business needs. -----   

Tim Erickson, BA, CPHR

Tim is currently the District Human Resources Manager at Best Buy Canada who works to improve overall engagement with employees. He has had extensive experience managing and engaging several teams of people across the restaurant industry as well, and prides himself on a practical understanding of business acumen and leadership application.
